PROJECT OVERVIEW

Passionflower is a customizable decision-making tool built around interactive spinning wheels. It allows users to create their own wheels, organize decisions into nested categories, and let randomness choose what to study, where to go, what to eat, what to watch, or what to do next. With multiple wheel views, chained spins, spin history, and statistics, Passionflower turns everyday decisions into a simple and engaging experience.

Passionflower is a customizable decision-making and random selection platform designed to help users make choices through interactive spinning wheels. Instead of simply choosing a random item from a list, Passionflower allows users to build structured, multi-level decision systems where one wheel can lead to another. Users can create their own wheels and add as many topics or options as they want. For example, a user could create a main “My Studies” wheel containing subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, History, and Chemistry. Mathematics can then have its own sub-wheel containing topics such as Derivatives, Integrals, Limits, and Probability. Individual topics can even contain another level of sub-wheels, creating a flexible hierarchy for increasingly specific decisions. This nested structure makes Passionflower useful for a wide range of everyday scenarios. Users can create wheels for study planning, travel destinations, meals, movies, sports routines, books, household tasks, gift ideas, game nights, or vacation planning. Instead of repeatedly deciding what to do next, users can simply let the wheel make the choice for them. One of the platform's key features is chained spinning. Rather than manually opening every level, users can spin a main wheel and automatically continue into the selected option's sub-wheel. This makes it possible to go from a broad category to a very specific choice in several steps—for example, from “Subjects” → “Mathematics” → “Integrals” → “Area.” Passionflower also provides three different ways to display the random selection process. The classic Wheel view presents a traditional spinning wheel with a pointer. The Name view displays rapidly changing names before stopping on the selected option, while the Strip view presents the options as a fast-moving horizontal strip that gradually slows down to reveal the result. Another important feature is spin history. Every spin can be recorded together with information such as the selected wheel, the result, the time of the spin, and the visualization mode used. Chained spins can also be displayed as a single sequence, allowing users to review the complete decision path later. The platform also includes statistics, allowing users to see information such as how often a particular topic has been selected and how many times they have spun their wheels during a given period. This adds a layer of insight to what would otherwise be a simple random-selection tool. Users can also edit and manage their wheels and topics. Options can be renamed, deleted, or added in bulk, while wheels can be customized with different icons and colors. This allows each wheel to be adapted to a particular use case or personal preference. Passionflower is designed around a simple philosophy: create the decision structure once, then let randomness take care of the small decisions. Whether someone is trying to decide what to study, where to travel, what to eat, what movie to watch, or what task to do next, the platform provides a playful and structured way to remove decision fatigue. Overall, Passionflower can be described as a personalized random decision-making platform with hierarchical wheels, multiple interaction modes, chained selections, persistent history, and statistics. Its main differentiator is that it goes beyond a conventional random picker by allowing users to create interconnected layers of decisions and explore them through an interactive, game-like experience.
